Hookthorn is a 6 sleeper privately owned Unit situated in the secure Hazey River Reserve which is situated on the R40 between White River and Hazyview on the shores of the Da Gama Dam.
On the Hazey River Reserve you will find peace and tranquility with abundant birdlife, resident fish eagles will wake you each morning and the resident zebras might also visit you.
Hazey River Reserve also houses the well known Four Star Hulala Lakeside Lodge which is within walking distance of the Unit and you are welcome to join the lodge for meals or have a drink in the famous Rock Inn Bar .
Hookthorn is a 3 bedroom Unit and comprises of :

Hookthorn is situated on the Panorama Route with the Kruger National Park a short 30 minute drive away. Gods Window, Bourkes Luck Potholes, the three Rondavels, Pilgrims Rest and the many waterfalls are in close proximity.
We highly recommend this place to all Fishermen (novice as well as experienced), who would like to combine fishing with all the other activities in the Lowveld. There are numerous walks that have been signposted for those that love to walk and bird watch.
You will have the right to all Hulala Lakeside Lodge (all part of the same large wildlife Reserve), facilities including its fleet of two-man canoes; peddle boats, rowing boats, bass boats (for hire) for the anglers, and the ever favourite "Sundowner Cruise." You can also enjoy meals or visit the well known "Rock Pub".
Well known golf courses in the area include: Nelspruit Golf course, White River country estate, Sabi Sun and Kruger Park Lodge. Motorised sport and angling at Klipkoppie dam is only 5 min away. The Kruger National Park is 20 min away.
Bourke's luck Potholes, Pilgrims Rest, Mac-Mac Falls and Sabie are all with in close driving distances.
Take the R22 going towards Benoni / Brakpan, which then joins up with the N12.
The N12 then joins up with the N4 from Pretoria / Witbank to Middleburg. Continue with the N4 and drive past Machadadorp, Waterval Boven and then straight to Nelspruit.
Once you arrive in Nelspruit at the third set of traffic lights, turn left onto the R40 going towards White River.
Pass through White River keeping to the R40 towards Hazyview.
The Hazy River Lakeview Estate is approximately 22km from Hazyview.
At the first turn-off to the houses turn left and we are Unit L20.
